Hosting and server logs
The website runs on a server we rent from netcup GmbH, Emmy-Noether-Straße 1, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany. The server is located in a data centre in Germany and is administered by us. netcup only provides the infrastructure and has no access to its contents.
With every request, the server stores technically necessary data in log files: IP address, date and time, requested address, referrer, browser identifier, status code and amount of data transferred. This is necessary to deliver the website and detect attacks (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The logs are deleted after seven days.
Cookies and consent
We store your choice in the cookie dialog in a cookie named “klaro” (valid for 30 days). This is technically necessary (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). Services that require consent are only loaded after you agree (§ 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.
Visitor statistics
For simple visitor statistics we count page views on our own server. No cookies are set and nothing is stored in your browser. We only store daily totals per page, the referring domain, the browser language and, where available, the country derived locally from the IP address. The IP address itself is not stored; to prevent abuse we keep it for at most 60 seconds as an encrypted check value. No visitor profiles are created and no data is passed on to third parties. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving our website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
The fonts used on this website are hosted on our own server. No connection to Google or other font providers is made.
Videos
Where we embed videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) or Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., 330 West 34th Street, New York, NY 10001, USA), we first show only a placeholder. Only when you activate the video does your browser connect to the provider and transmit, among other things, your IP address; the provider may set cookies (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). Privacy information: Google, Vimeo.
Website security
We log failed login attempts to the administration area together with the IP address in order to block attacks automatically. These logs are continuously overwritten. In addition, the security plugin Wordfence checks incoming requests for attack patterns. It runs on our server; no visitor data is transmitted to its vendor. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
Links to other websites and social networks
Links to social networks (such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky or Discord) or platforms such as Steam are plain links. Data is only transmitted to the respective provider once you follow a link; their privacy policy then applies.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3)).
Right to object: Where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), you can object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
To exercise these rights, simply contact support@otbtgames.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein (ULD), Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel, Germany, www.datenschutzzentrum.de.
